Oscar Wilde's The Happy Prince and other tales

As I mentioned in my previous Posting told me I have now ventured on a fairy tale. Five art fairy tales are gathered in this volume.
Generally speaking, each of the five is sad and that, as in a fable, animals and things, and can be humanized speak. People are almost set before a mirror, allowing them to their selfishness, their selfishness and reflect on materialism and envy.

The Happy Prince

This is the eponymous story. The Happy Prince is a statue with gold and precious stones is added. In life, the prince lived happily in a garden, after his death, he saw things as a statue all the bad that happen to the people. A swallow comes up to him, and she takes all the precious stones and gold to help the poor. Dies at the end of the swallow, because they did not fly to the south and the statue is melted down, because she is ugly no longer useful.

The Nightingale and the Rose

This I particularly liked. A young man is in love with a girl that will dance with him only if he gives her a red rose. But he has no red rose. A nightingale decides to help him. A rose bush, it says there are currently only a possibility, they would sacrifice their life-blood: ram yourself a thorn in the chest and sing it-done-said the nightingale dies and a beautiful red rose blossoms. The young man she picks, go to his adored, but she rejects it, because another has given her jewels and they are more valuable than the rose. The boy crushes the rose and decides to remain faithful to the sciences.

The Selfish Giant

A giant will not let children play in his garden, pointed out draws an eternal winter. He realizes that he but the child could experience again the spring and summer and then helps a small child up to a tree. After that all the children playing again every day in the garden, just the kind of small beginning is lost. One day it is but with sore hands and feet back into the garden and takes the giant. He is found dead.

The devoted friend

This is a story in history. One swallow a water rat tells a story about friendship (and take the pass and you should). It then goes to the young and the rich Hans Müller-linked by a friendship. The miller, however, takes and takes and directed by Hans basis.

The special rocket

This is probably to selfishness. intended to honor the wedding of Prince and Princess Rocket be fired, but a rocket is crying and can not be shot down. It is then thrown away, but they can not accept the truth and interprets the reality as it pleases. In the end they will be shot down by kids who do not even notice it.
