Pierre Corneille The Cid The Cid
I ever read for a lecture, but again for the final examination. The brevity of this tragic comedy, I had read it very quickly.
It's about the concept of honor capped in the past, but is not really critical in this piece (not like the lieutenant Gustl so, but who is also far younger) - but in the end but wins the love ! So a very positive work.
Corneille is a representative of the French classic, which adheres strictly to the three unities of Aristotle, even if it turns everything as he pleases ;) After all, kills the father of his lover Rodrigo, wins a battle and still win a duel, and all within 24 hours XD all the works not know from today's perspective, that would not matter, but! earlier it was scandalous!
